Review: UOB Preferred Platinum MasterCard

A card that make people feels special with fancy name Annual fee: RM 200++ Need to call and beg to waive. Benefit 2018: 10% cash back on dining and online spending when total valid spending amount is more than RM1K. C'mon who can spend this much for beginner level. Unless you're a sales person who required to eat with client or you're a heavy duty online shopper that confirm spend minimum RM1K a month online(which is kinda ridiculous ) Typical online bills: TNB (RM 200) + TM (RM 200) + Teclo (RM 100) + Lazada (?)  Topping up with RM 500 food expenses. Typical food bills RM 500 if they accept credit cards, but normally it's hard to reach. Benefit 2017: Access to Air port lounge for free.

Reward Me

BigPayMe is not supporting AMEX recharging, so it's no luck with Maybank 2 AMEX, we can't earn 5xTP and no 5% weekend cash back. I'd change my direction to Visa/MasterCard based credit card to search for a good alternative. Online cash back credit cards caught my sight when BigPayMe launched. Public Quantum Mastercard Logically maximizing PBQM 5% (RM 30 capped) cash back, we need to spend a RM 600 per month, on dining and online categories. Assuming we only spend in online category, which is recharging the BPM account. RM 600 * 12 = RM 7200 with RM 360 cash back annually Each RM 1k BPM credit withdraw from ATM cost RM 6, hence RM 42 for withdrawing RM 7k The rest of the calculation you can figure them out. I personally believe RM 7K is a good cash money for annual investment, even low risk investment like  PBe FD rate yield 3.35% p.a., which is more than the ATM withdraw fee we'd pay for. UOB YOLO card/UOB Preferred Platinum/UOB One To be eligible for th...

Review: UOB Yolo

UOB Yolo had just rework their TNC It is still a RM36K apply-able RM 95.40 annual fee credit card. Cash back of RM 50 capped is legit with 16 transaction per statement month.

BigPay Me

I'd gotten my BigPay Prepaid card few weeks back. And I'd decided only to blog this down today. BigPay is a cashless payment service that includes a QR code based ewallet and a prepaid card. This service is allowing us to earn BIGPoints for the money we spent with the prepaid card and similar to PayPal, send and receive money with the ewallet. The prepaid card itself has a RM10K maximum credit holding limit, but it's commonly limited to RM 1500. For recharging the prepaid card, each RM 50 and for every RM 20 spend with the card, earns 1 BIG Points Currently it only offer RM 0 processing fee for AirAsia flight bookings via online. Hopefully more membership rewards are coming in, perhaps a join force with B infinite or Bonuslink. Too bad this card doesn't support AMEX credit card for credit recharging. Too bad.

Credit card master : GenX

I'd met one master of credit card. He had taught me knowledge in utilizing credit cards based on spending pattern. Still, Malaysia is a highly cash dependent country in transaction. People prefer cash over credit, until the extend some merchants impose a minimum amount legit for credit card usage in payment and some just not willing to install terminal. June 14, Kiss Valentine's day. I'd kisses my Maybank 2 Gold. It's a straight feelings to own credit card. Feels like... exclusive. Like, finally, you bastard is stepping into the gate of elites. Unlike those labor workers, you're special. Even though the true is not the case. I'd always keep in my mind that credit cards are high interest loan that once I failed to pay back on time, the interest could literally kills me. Since then, I'd been obsesses with credit card payments. I tried various methods to maximize my spending with credit cards. From bills, petrol, until dining and loans. I even...

Money issue is haunting me

Again, upmost grand festival of the year, the most important event for my race, for a typical Chinese, is around the corner. It's Chinese new year again. Urgh! This year, it landed on two days after Valentine's day. (Shit!) Lucky for me, I'm single, available, kind and ugly. So no issue on Valentine's-CNY combo. Much of my friends are preparing themselves to be slaughtered by the economy already. Valentine's day is going to grab a big bite from boys' wallet as last year their lover might not be able to get what they wanted due to financial crisis of year 2017. Then at the same time have to fetch back some cash for daddy mommy to go CNY shopping. Because last year's financial crisis, the company didn't make much money. But dont want the parent to worry much, nge nge give them RM1k for CNY's new clothes, food, snack , drink, and most importantly, angpao. Yes, you might not hear the "dong dong chiang" but for sure you're getting l...
